K’Syrah | Solvang Wedding

Karla and Andrew got married in Solvang, an authentic Danish community in Southern California. Andrew grew up in Solvang, so it held a special place in his heart. Karla got ready in a private cottage at Wine Valley Inn, which was a great spot for photos with her bridesmaids and immediate family, with little bridges and Danish architecture. Her dad was moved to tears when he did a first look with his daughter, and it was a really special moment to capture. Meanwhile, Andrew and the guys explored downtown Solvang and took photos with some of the unique monuments Andrew remembered from his childhood, going as far as to recreate the Beatles album cover, Abbey Road.

Their ceremony was at K’Syrah, a local catering company. The space is very rustic, with lots of greenery and weathered wood. Karla is a “Bachelor” fan and started out the ceremony by asking Andrew if he would accept her rose. Spoiler alert, he said yes! After the ceremony, we went over to the Santa Ynez Mission, and captured some photos in front of the picturesque landscape.

We ended the night taking some romantic night time shots around Solvang, in front of landmark hotels, and windmills. Towards the end, it started to sprinkle outside, creating a cool bokeh effect for their photos. Karla and Andrew are really kind people, and Karla’s sense of humor really carried the evening.
